We've had a busy and fun week. It started last Thursday night when Taylor's mom and sister flew in to stay with us for the weekend--lame me didn't take any pictures, though, so I will spare you the travelogue. The weather was less than desirable for their visit, but it meant we got to play games--something Taylor doesn't seem to like to do when it's just the two of us... :) But we sure loved having them!
Then on Tuesday, Isaac and I went to the Zoo with Jodie and her kids. I can't remember the last time I went to the zoo, and I was interested to see if Isaac would enjoy it. Here we are at the very beginning.... Taylor (6), Preston (8), and Isaac and Mason (3). Gotta love Isaac's face in this.... "seriously, mom? we haven't even entered and you are taking pictures!"

Isaac fed the Giraffe, and to my surprise didn't freak out at all...I was probably more grossed out than him.

Taylor holding Isaac by the horses. She was so cute with him, but come to think of it, so were all of Jodie's kids! I have to note that when we left our house, right when Jodie opened the backseat door, Mason says, "MY Isaac!"

Taylor feeding the birds.

I love these pictures and had to catalogue them all....Isaac will feed a giraffe with a 12 inch tongue, but will want to get away when a 12 inch bird is close to him!
hahaha....

Ah, but if Jodie held her arm out, he was better.

So then Jodie got down to show Mason and Preston....

And before you know it, the bird hopped up Jodie's arm to nibble on her ear! I am pretty sure she wanted me to get the bird, but I had to take a photo op first! (Sorry Jodie!) :)

All in all, it was a great time at the zoo! Thanks for inviting us Jodie! We sure love your kiddos!
In other news, the waterfall in our backyard is almost done! For those of you who don't know, we are going to put a waterfall in our backyard and put a bench/plaque or something in honor of Angelina. We want a place to remember her and feel the symbolism of running water is the perfect place.
But to my surprise, the waterfall has not taken a long time to complete. Granted, it's not done yet, but it has gone quickly!
Monday night we took our
FHE activity to the yard...unfortunately with the snow we received over the weekend, it was still very muddy and Isaac was proof of that.

He used the windshield scraper as a shovel....
haha....

"Hi mom." Our child looks white trash in this picture but I sure love it! I love seeing my little boy outside getting dirty in the mud!

Taylor's gloves reflect the flash, but I love this picture too.

So these pictures of the waterfall don't do it justice--which is partly on purpose because we want the final product to be awesome. But here is what we did Monday night--dug the hole for the electrical conduit:

By Tuesday the tarp and whatnot was down and the cascades in place. Thanks to our good friend, Tyler, who has helped us with this! (He is a landscaper).

Taylor has worked on this every night this week and has gotten up at 6 a.m. in the mornings to work on it! (For the record...I have helped as well--definitely not as much as Taylor has done--but someone has to watch the little one, right!?) :) It's almost done and with grass getting put in next week, it will be fabulous! Thanks for all your hard work on this babe! I love you!

Isaac is getting so big! I can't wait to see the waterfall - it will be neat to have such a special place to think about your precious girl.
I forgot that the Halls are out there! Please tell them hi for me!
So much fun! The Zoo is great..I am sure Isaac loved it.
Busy! Doing landscaping is a lot of work! Good luck!
There is nothing like seeing a little boy COVERED in mud. It just has to make you smile. I, myself, just spent an hour scrubbing Q's shoes and clothes from such an incident! I can't wait to see the finished waterfall!
That will be so great to have, what a fun project. Hope things are going well!
It will be fun to see that waterfall.
Someday, I will get to that zoo.
