The Random Post
Nothing too new to report--at least nothing blog worthy. I sure haven't posted much recently, so I decided to post some random pictures we have taken over the past few weeks. We got a new camera for Christmas, so we have been trying to figure out how it works.

The Month of December
Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted. Thanksgiving, in fact. There are a few reasons in regards to the lack of posting, 1) We had to get an external hard drive before I could download pictures to the computer, 2) I haven't taken many pictures and 3) we've just been busy. So here are some highlights from our month of December.
We started the month off by seeing Santa Claus at a work party--look at this Santa, he is authentic! Isaac did well, wasn't all chummy and friendly with him, but he sat on his lap!
Then we played in Papa's office! (My dad's office) Isaac knew right where the candy was...notice the chocolate smile.
We had a ward party, where Santa came as well. We have such awesome youth in our ward, and this particular night two young women took Isaac around and got him a bell and some candy--they are so awesome and Isaac loved them!
We went to a white elephant party with some friends in the ward--sure wish I took pictures of this one! :) Since we spent the actual Christmas day in Utah, we spent Christmas Eve with my family before we left. Isaac got a new pair of Cars pajamas and slippers, he loves them!
We flew to Utah on Christmas Eve and arrived in time for the annual Housley cookie contest.
Christmas morning at Grandma's house.... I love this picture of Isaac!
Later Christmas Day, the cousins and aunts and uncles came over. We had everyone but Jordan and Erin and Kim and Theran--we sure missed them!
Isaac riding the "horsie."
All the boys in Taylor's family (minus Theran since he couldn't because of work) had a beard-growing contest for three weeks. Here they all are on the last day of the contest...who do you think won??
Saturday evening we had a girls night out amongst the sister-in-laws and Suzanne...again, sure wish I got pictures. We went and had manicures/pedicures and then went out to eat...we will definitely be making this night a tradition! :) And while the girls were being pampered, the boys watched the Jazz game in SLC. We had four fun-filled days in Utah--we sure love being with family and seeing you all!!
We had a great Christmas and thank our family for making it so!!

We came home on Sunday night, and on Monday night we celebrated Christmas with my family. I got a picture of Taylor opening one of the gifts I got him--a down comforter mattress topper--wahoo! what he always wanted...haha! :)
After all our Christmas celebrations, Taylor and I celebrated FOUR years of marriage on December 29. Part of me thinks that is so long, another part doesn't. We decided to switch off years on the planning, so this year was mine (so that he gets the big 5 year next year!) :) We had a wonderful day together as he took off half the day from work. I am so grateful to have him by my side! I wouldn't want it any other way....I love you Taylor!!
Last but not least--New Year's. We were in Colorado and went out to dinner with my family and then over to Taylor's aunt and uncle for games. We had SO much fun and decided at midnight that we should watch a movie. Why we do this to ourselves, I don't know. We stayed up until 2:30 a.m. just to be awakened by Isaac at 8. Nevertheless, we were zombies all New Year's Day.

Thanksgiving Week
This year we spent Thanksgiving with my family. And as the tradition goes, my mom's parents and my mom's brother and his family always come out to Colorado for the week. It was a fun filled busy week! My grandparents came in on Monday and my aunt and uncle came Tuesday. The girls went shopping on Tuesday and then we all went out to dinner. Wednesday we went to Itz with the kids and spent the afternoon there. My mom and I had fun bowling in the kid lanes :)

And surprisingly, Isaac was pretty good at the car driving arcade! Look how focused he is!
It was different to spend Thanksgiving with my family when we had our own house to stay at. It definitely has some pros and cons. So we started some Thanksgiving traditions that I want to remember. On Thanksgiving day we got up and watched the Macy's parade and put up Christmas decorations in the house. It was really fun. Then around 1:30 we headed over to my parents in time to watch the Cowboy's game. :) We (ok, I) ate way too much, cleaned up, watched more football, then went home. Here is Isaac and Ava by my parents Christmas tree.
Then on Friday, I did the Black Friday shopping! I met a friend of mine at Kohl's at 5 a.m. I didn't think it was too bad but when we started to leave it got busier, so perhaps it is worth it to get up early! Then I came home, woke Taylor up and while he put lights on the house, I decorated our tree. I thought I'd take a picture of him on our roof so I could send it to his mother! Not to worry though Suzanne, he was safe and never slipped or fell! I was so worried though...I kept going out to make sure he was ok...he was probably so annoyed by my, "Honey? How ya doin??" :) It's scary having him on the roof! Our neighbors couldn't believe Taylor put the lights on the roof--they thought for sure we hired someone else to do it.
Isaac is our moving decoration :)
Then Friday afternoon we took all the kids to the North Pole. The funny thing is, BOTH Taylor and I have been there when we were younger, so we were pretty excited to go with our son. Isaac LOVED it!! We started on the ski lift that goes over the train and the train tracks (FYI, Isaac LOVES all things train) so he thought that was so cool. He rode with my parents.
Then, the TRAIN ride. :) Isaac really liked it.

Taylor took Isaac on the carousel, again, Isaac loves to point out and say "horse" whenever we see one, so he loved this as well.
However, Taylor taught Isaac to stick his tongue out when I was taking pictures....so then Isaac did it ALL the time!!

Proof:
And again....
And again...
But, luckily, it wasn't EVERY picture!

It was a lot of fun to go to the North Pole and Isaac definitely loved it. Then on Saturday, the boys went hunting, I got a massage, we took family pictures (the three of us) and then watched the blessed BYU vs. Utah game...and, BYU won!! (my aunt and uncle are big Ute fans...even brought Utah shirts for the whole family!) It was a great ending to a fun-filled, busy week!!

Week BEFORE Thanksgiving
Wow, I am behind. Kept wanting to post about the week before Thanksgiving but every time I sat down to do it my camera was somewhere else and by the time I went to get my camera, I found something else that needed my attention. So...now it is time to catch up.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I organized a "Thanksgiving Craft" morning with several moms and kids in our area. In total, there were 6 adults, 7 toddlers/preschoolers and 3 babies. We made turkeys by tracing the kids hands and then edible turkeys with oreos. All in all, I think the kids would have thought it was just as fun to just play with the toys and each other. :) But it was a lot of fun and hopefully we can do a Christmas themed one in the next coming weeks as well!
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures until after some people left. So here are some of the kiddos with their turkeys

Then on Thursday, our dear sweet friend Patsy came back into town! She moved this summer and came back to see us! We started the fun girls weekend off by going to the midnight showing of New Moon. I couldn't believe I was really going to the midnight showing--I'm not a die hard fan or anything-- but those kind of things are fun to do once in a while. Got to bed at 4 a.m. and up by 9 a.m....not bad but that's why I'll do it once in a while. :)
The following day we met for dinner at Biaggi's.
It was so great to see you Patsy and to get together! I wish we could see you more often!! Our turn next to come see you! And while I was doing all this fun girls night out stuff....Taylor was in Utah for one of his buddies weddings. So it worked out pretty well...especially to have my family close to help watch Isaac.

Weekend in Review
Friday night was our Relief Society Holiday Dinner (all women in our ward ages 18 and older) ... it was a great night, especially to be amongst friends...not to mention the food was delicious.
Saturday was a low-key day. Taylor started the morning off with a church meeting and that afternoon we went to the AFA vs. UNLV football game. My parents were out of town so my sister and her husband and us went. Before the game they cater food...here's Isaac "cheesing" for me...actually pausing from hitting the balloons to cheese. :)

"That was totally WICKED"
Can you name the movie where the title of this post is inspired from?? .... "The Incredibles"... :)
On Friday night we went and saw Wicked in Denver...it was AWESOME!!! Taylor had a business trip Thursday-Friday and was able to meet us at the theater in time for the show, but wasn't able to go to dinner. Luckily there was an extra ticket in our group, so my mom gladly took the extra and joined me and the Harline family for dinner! It was a GREAT night!!!
One side of our table at dinner... me, Jordan and Kenzie. (Yes, I dyed my hair back to brown...hallelujah! No more maintenance of blonde highlights!)
The other side of the table...Steve, Cindy and my mom.
