Our 4th of July Weekend

Our 4th of July started bright and early Saturday morning. We signed up to do the "Fun Run" which was a 4 mile run from Palmer Lake to Monument. We even convinced Daniel and Stephanie (Brady) Jacobs to do it with us! So my dad, mom, Taylor, Isaac and I went.

This picture is at the start of the race...thank you boys for looking at the camera. :)

And then the end of the race. Isaac was so tired...we woke him up around 6 a.m. when he normally wakes up around 9 a.m...he even fell asleep in the stroller on the race!
Steph and Daniel

Steph and I....we were walking buddies. We didn't really have intentions to run the race....so we walked real fast and had great conversation! :)

And Daniel and Taylor were running buddies....ah, ain't that cute :) haha, just kidding....but they do match.

Isaac got a muffin at the end with Nana....I love that he is holding it up to show it to me.

My dad pushed Isaac in the stroller, so we had to document the stroller, too. :) My dad's even steps are probably what put Isaac to sleep!

Isaac got a number too! Just kidding...Papa (my dad) just put his tag on him.

After the run--which is now an annual event/tradition--we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go to the pool. Unfortunately, after an hour and a half, we got rained out and had to leave. But...it was fun while it lasted. Taylor had never been to this pool with us before, so he had a lot of fun with Isaac jumping through water and playing in the sand.

Right before we got rained out...wearing Papa's hat and Nana's sunglasses. Such a poser..."cheese!"

We went home and took naps and then headed over to my parents house for a BBQ with Taylor's Aunt and Uncle and a few cousins and Steph and Daniel joined us too....no pictures, sorry. But it was a feast and a lot of fun.

The next day--Sunday--was fast Sunday and our family tries to have dinner together every Fast Sunday and we rotate houses. This month it was my mom's turn, so we headed over for dinner and Isaac had a lot of fun in the kitchen.....

"Look Dad! A Helmet!" HAHA....out of nowhere, Isaac found this bowl and put it on his head and was running around, we thought it was pretty comical!

And, a little late--but better late than never--I made cupcakes for my mom's birthday which was June 20 when we were in Chicago. She loves Pirates so I attempted to make Pirates.

My dad shoving it in....haha...it's like wedding days all over again. :) After dinner we went on a walk and Isaac got hold of this flag and was waving it around, I thought it was pretty funny.

So all in all, it was a great weekend! Hope everyone else had a happy and safe 4th of July! (One regret from the weekend: I never did hear, "I'm Proud to be An American" on Saturday....I don't think we ever had the radio on.....bummer.....).

YOU WIN!!! Send me a comment for any of the 3 designs and what color scheme you would like. Also, if you want one with ruffles, without, a different neckline, one or two pockets, or whatever. Basically this is where you get to design your own apron:)
