My Boys Are Sick!

It is no fun to be sick. Or to see someone sick. It all started...oh, lets say Sunday. Isaac woke up with a red/pink eye and I went in to Taylor and told him that I was worried Isaac may have pink eye. It seemed to clear up before church so I assumed it was just a "tired" looking eye. After church Taylor started having eye issues. His didn't clear up. Taylor went to the doctor Monday afternoon and learned he had a bacterial infection in not one, but BOTH of his eyes. :-( When I got home from work, Isaac had just woken up and he ALSO had some discharge coming out of his eye also. NOT FUN. In the meantime, Taylor started getting a sore throat and runny nose. But that's not where it stops--Isaac has a nasty cough and a runny nose. When does it end?!

I'm trying to not be the complete worried mom and assume the worst with Isaac being sick but it is so sad! I think, and am hoping, that it is just teething, especially since he just got over his first ear infection. Anyone have any ideas or tips on helping a baby get over a cough??

On a different and positive note--we had a "Spring Cleaning" weekend. It was GREAT. Taylor spent the day deep cleaning the cars and I deep cleaned the house. It was great and very productive. It would have been even better if Isaac wasn't entering his separation anxiety stage. I've read that around 7 months it kicks in and every time I put Isaac down and just walked away he just cried...it was cute the first two times...but then it got harder to get anything done. Anyone else going through this or have advice?! :-)

Advice for a coughing baby: be careful how much formula you give him because it is thick and heavy in his tummy and when he coughs he will sometimes gag and then that leads to throw up. Sometimes it is better to just give him juice, it will still keep him hydrated and it wont be to thick.

I'm sorry that Isaac is under the weather. :( It's no fun to be sick, and I hear it's less fun when it's your baby that's sick. Take care and I hope he feels better soon.

Ethan has a cough and runny nose too! It's horrible to hear him hacking away--

We never went through a real clingy stage with Ethan, but my advice would be to not always give in to Isaac (although I know it's hard!) because you definitely don't want him to learn that every time he cries he'll get what he wants.......he may still be a little too young for this though.
