Pregnancy Woes and Amazing Support

After you read the "One thing after another..." post, you will understand this post. Obviously, Taylor and I had a pretty eventful weekend...on Saturday, I went to the baby shower and was up and about for that, then I ran some quick errands and got the run around by three different mechanics, and then we were off to dinner with my mom and Nana and then it was a two hour car ride back to Idaho, only 24 hours after our two hour drive from Idaho to Utah--it was a short, packed, eventful trip! Well, around dinner I was noticing my back was starting to hurt. I have had back pain for several years due to an injury I sustained from dance, but have felt extremely blessed that my back has caused me little to no pain at all this entire pregnancy. Well as the night went on, my back got worse and worse. We stopped in Brigham City to fill up with gas and to give me a potty break, and I could hardly walk it hurt so bad. The car ride was just pure uncomfortable, and I kept trying to find some relief, but it was limited. I figured after a good night's rest I would be better, but I was wrong. I was the same, if not worse, this morning.

I knew that if I couldn't find relief lying down, that sitting in a pew at church would not be better. So I stayed home and Taylor went off to church. When he got home, I gave in and took some Tylenol. (I am NOT a big pill-taker and would rather let the pain go away then take medicine, I don't know why I'm like this, I just am....whereas Taylor is the complete opposite--he's all about taking the medicine to help). Taylor also gave me a blessing of comfort that I would be able to sustain this and get through it--it meant a lot to me.

So while my husband was and is great at taking care of me, we also have some awesome friends in our ward who have helped. They have one of those rice bags that you can stick in the microwave which they brought over, and they also brought over some Icy Hot gel. Now when you thought they have already helped as much as possible, they brought dinner over for us!! Now the crazy thing is...she just had a baby a week ago!!!!!!!! WE should be the ones taking dinner to them, not the other way around!! They are just amazing and so helpful and supportive!

Just a thought, but back pain can be labor and is often mistaken as JUST back pain! Q's head was twisted the wrong way and my labor was all back labor! Maybe your having the baby! O.k. I know it is not nice to get your hopes up, but just a thought as I was reading your blog!

I hope you're not having the baby, because it's still too early! I might be a little sensitive on this subject, but having only held Hazen 4 times, and this being day 19 in the NICU, with MANY more days to go, I pray that you can go full term, and have a safe labor!! No one deserves to go through the NICU experience!! I love you, and am so glad you're blogging!
