Christmas Decorations!

Ok, so our decorations have been up for over a week, but finally, here are the pictures.

Here's the before....
And the after....
And the before...
After...
A close-up...this probably turned out to be my favorite...

Sorry, no before on this one...my aunt made those letters for us last year.

And....the tree....sorry, the pictures aren't great--they don't show the detail as much as I'd like...

The theme for the tree was snowflakes with colors red, silver and white. It was really fun decorating it, I learned a lot and already have new ideas for next year. It's pretty funny to think that everyone has grown up with some sort of tree in their house--I discovered that Taylor and I grew up with very different Christmas trees, in terms of how it was decorated. I grew up with actually three different trees--a formal one, a fun snowman one, and then my sister and I had our own tree where we would put all the homemade, fun, school-made ornaments. So, seeing how we really don't have room for three different trees, we're starting out with our classy semi-formal tree, which is something Taylor has graciously gotten used to. :-) The tree is right by Isaac's swing, so when the lights turn on on the tree at night it's fun to watch Isaac stare at the tree and be mesmerized by the different patterns. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." in our home!!

P.S. what color of paint is that behind your fireplace? I love it. I'm thinking of doing some more painting, I guess painting our whole house when I was 9 month pregnant wasn't enough.

Ugh. I think you hung around Shaunelle too much. Any chance you'll be in the Maryland area next April to help me decorate our new house?

Hi Valerie! I lost track of your guys' address when I switched blog templates, but came across it through Stephanie again. Your house looks adorable! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Your baby boy is so handsome. :)

I am very impressed! Our first year of marriage, I think we decorated our tree with holiday candy because we couldn't afford much! Things have improved slightly (we now have ornaments) but I can't wait until I can go hog wild with my ideas when Andrew is done with school!

Love it! It all looks so good. Our first Christmas tree was a fake ficus with red ribbons on it and 2 ornaments.

You've inspired me to start blogging. I'm almost done setting it up. :)

I love your Christmas decorations! Our Christmas tree just has lights and ornaments from the dollar store! We figured with a curious, crawling baby it would be best not to put anything nice or expensive that would break on the tree, so we're making do with plastic balls and snowmen...oh how I envy you!:)

Your house looks so Christmassy and awesome! I love it. You did a VERY good job at decorating it! I love your full size christmas tree too...our apartment is WAY too small for anything like that. We'll settle for our little 3 footer, which is still fun. Anything with lights makes this time of year more magical, right?!
